If you ask any foreigners who have ever visited Thailand about their favorite Thai food, their answers, almost without exception, will be tom yam.
Tom yam, or spicy soup, is the number one of the top ten Thai dishes loved by foreigners, according to a recent investigation. And in fact, it is one of the most favorite dishes for Thai people as well. It is simply because it is so delicious for its unique sour and spicy taste that you will certainly need it more and more if you try it just once.

Thai food generally not only provides a wonderful taste but also includes medicinal properties in its herbal ingredients as well. Tom yam is one of the best examples. To make you acquainted with this special Thai dish, this article will introduce you to the recipe for the soup and its herbal properties.

Tom yum is usually made with prawns (tom yum goong), chicken (tom yum gai), or mixed seafood (tom yum talay) and mushrooms (tom yum hed) – in this meal I made Tom Yum mushrooms. The soup is often topped with generous sprinkling of fresh chopped cilantro (coriander leaves). Yummy time…let’s go!!!

Ingredients
350 g. mushroom
1 tomato
1 onion
1 lemongrass stem
7-8 kaffir lime leaves
2 sprigs cilantro
5 fresh chilies
3 Tbsp thin fish sauce or soy sauce
2 Tbsp roasted chilies paste
4 Tbsp lime juice
5 cups water1. Clean mushroom, then cut mushroom in quarter. Wash tomato, onion, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, fresh chilies, and cilantro, then pat dry. Slice tomato, onion, lemongrass stem, tear kaffir lime leaves in halves (remove central stems), pound chilies and slice in halves, and coarsely chop cilantro.

Preparation

2. Pour water in a pot, bring to boil on high heat, add sliced lemongrass and torn kaffir lime leaves, let them boil about 5 minutes. Add tomato and onion , bring to boil until 2-3 minutes on medium heat. Add mushroom, bring to boil until 2-3 minutes, low the heat.

3. Season with roasted chilies paste, thin fish sauce (or soy sauce), and pounded chilies, turn off the heat. Pour lime juice then taste as you like. Add chopped cilantro and stir thoroughly.

  

6. Put “Tom Yam” in a bowl and serve immediately. Yummy J

Greeting from the valley of the sun!! It’s definitely summer today… hot! hot! hot!

Today is an introduction day for our team members. At first we separate in 3 parts of product;  jewelry, fabric stuffs, and product designs.
The designer are all of us; Apple(me), Mint and Jeep. We studied in the faculty of fine arts  Chiangmai University together.
Actually we known each other in primary school…So long time I’m finished from Department of Fashion design. Mint from Department of Jewelry design and Jeep from Department of Media Arts and products design. 

It started with my part;  fabric stuffs… I have a draw book for many idea I has. Almost with upcycling, hand stitching , natural fabric and vintage fabric from tribal. Ahh… I have my own another etsy shop name Thaitied. Fully of clothing from tribal material in new design. Guarantee you never seen before!!~
Back to Kanom’s shop. I working on design, sewing, embroidery, manage etsy shop and shipped all items by airmail from Thailand.  Sometime the needle work is too hard, I ask for Mom’s help. She’s the best sewer in the world!! But she always busy with Thaitied’s products.

The jewelry part by Mint;  She’s the most fashionable in our group. Her jewelry always has super cute gimmick. Based on the simple but cool! She designs it, make it and send the sample to me. Then I decide which one can follow on etsy, she’ll make the stocked as she can. Because she always busy from her job. She’s the teacher!! The last part belongs to Jeep; The artist who has her own world!! She always get inspiration from something basic but different. Sometimes it’s hard to understand but I try. She also has the handmade (as fabric journal) and the production design (as sport lover notebook). Almost she get some briefly detail of new item, then I made it. She love the free life, love to travel. So it’s quite hardly to see her.  Now she goes to USA,Ohio.(Always on vacation!!) Guess she’ll back in next month. I really want her new design~

          White water rafting is Thailand’s most exciting water sport. Nothing compares to the thrill of running fast moving rapids in a rubber raft. Or the tranquility of floating past cascading waterfalls and towering canyons deep in the jungle. According Chiangmai based among the high hill/moutain so the white water rafting is very famous.
          One of my lovely friend own the rafting tour agency so I spend (usually) a weekend in there. As my last sunday, I got the adventure again!
